CONGRATULATIONS RECENT GRADUATES! The 2010 spring commencement has come and gone. We believe it was a tremendous success with over 600 degrees conferred. It is time to begin looking ahead to the fall ceremony which is scheduled for Saturday, December 11, 2010 in the Malcolm Athletic Center of the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex.
REMEMBER: IF YOU PLAN TO GRADUATE, YOU MUST APPLY THROUGH THE OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR TO DO SO.
Commencement is a formal event for which you must wear a cap and gown. Orders will be taken on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Graduation Countdown which will be held in the lounge of the Alumni Memorial Student Union. After September 29, you may order your regalia directly through the UF Bookstore by calling (419) 434-4561. You are expected to pay for your cap and gown at the time it is ordered. The charge for the undergraduate regalia will be approximately $68 and $88 (tax included) for the master’s degree apparel. Charges for late orders will be $5, $10 and $20 as the time draws near. On Tuesday, November 30, you may pick up your pre-ordered caps and gowns at Senior Salute between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in the AMU Multipurpose Room. At that time you will also be able to check the spelling of your name in the program, check on outstanding balances, order invitations, seek career opportunities, and eat free pizza! If you are unable to attend either Graduation Countdown or Senior Salute, please contact the University Bookstore located at 1330 North Main Street following those dates during their normal business hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at (419) 434-4561. Rehearsal is scheduled for 3:00 pm on Friday, December 10 in the Koehler Fitness Complex. Commencement day events include a baccalaureate service at 11:00 am in the Ritz Auditorium of Old Main, a brunch from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Alumni Memorial Union (call the Office of Alumni Relations at (419) 434-4516 for reservations) and the ceremony at 2:00 pm. in the Koehler Complex. All graduates are to report to the new recreation center on the first floor of the Koehler Complex at 1:00 pm. The procession will begin promptly at 1:45 pm. Doors will open to family and friends at 12:30 pm. No tickets are needed. Handicapped parking will be available on the East and West sides of the complex.
