Development

Dave Ferguson

Spring is a time of transition on a university campus as graduating students begin or resume their careers after years of preparation. It is an exciting time filled with optimism, confidence and some anticipation. For traditional students who came to college straight from high school, commencement will signal the end of the structured academic environment they have known most of their lives, and the start, for many, of a far-less structured life as they begin to chart their own course to meaningful lives and productive careers.

This spring is a time of institutional transition at The University of Findlay as well as we prepare to bid farewell to President and Mrs. DeBow Freed who have served us so well and with great grace and style for the past seven years. Dr. Freed will be rotating out of active service with UF – (we don’t dare use the word “retire” within his hearing!). We, too, face the future with optimism and confidence because we know that Dr. Freed has prepared us well for the days, months and years ahead.

We here in Development join with many others in extending a heartfelt “Thank You and Well Done!” to the Freeds, and wish them many happy years in the next phase of their own meaningful lives and productive careers!
